Although I do love the warmth of summer, fall is one of my favorite times. And this fall is the perfect time to visit the 15 beach neighborhoods of South Walton, Florida and join the festivities and events going on through November. Among these exciting events, which are part of the Autumn Tides are the Taste of The Beach and the annual Baytowne Wharf Beer Festival.
In early November the Taste of The Beach brings together six wine and culinary events to South Walton and neighboring counties over the course of three delicious days . The event will feature national wine suppliers and boutique vineyards and an impressive list of local chefs and restaurants serving fresh, local fare. South Walton events include an Al Fresco Reserve Tasting in Seaside’s Ruskin Place and the perennial favorite Seeing Red Wine Festival in Seaside, and a silent auction and a progressive wine dinner at Seagar’s, both located in the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa.
In mid October you can join the Baytowne Wharf Beer Festival for a weekend full of beer tasting and pairing fun for guys, girls, newbies and brew aficionados. There will be over 100 beers are available for sampling on Saturday at the Village of Baytowne Wharf in Sandestin. Plus activities that include a beer pairing dinner at Marlin Grill on Friday and a display of more than 100 Corvettes as part of the Vettes at the Village car show on Saturday.
Also taking place during Autumn Tides are these signature events that include an opportunity to explore the creative writing process and hone your writing skills at the Rosemary Beach Fall Writer’s Conference. Discover the eclectic artwork of renowned Louisiana artist George Rodrigue, creator of the iconic Blue Dog series. You can also delve into the world of ecotourism and exploring the host of natural attractions throughout South Walton in the Back to Nature Festival, hosted by the South Walton Community Council. And, one of our favorite events is the annual Flutterby Festival in mid November in Rosemary Beach, celebrating the arts, children and the colorful migration of Monarch butterflies through South Walton.
